3.1. How do we protect your information?

We have adopted and implemented a number of technical and administrative measures to protect your privacy from unauthorised access, use or alteration and unlawful destructions, including where appropriate the following steps:

  • Using Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) encryption when collecting or transferring sensitive information, such as credit card details (SSL encryption is designed to make the data unreadable by anyone but Audio Imperia).
  • Limiting access rights to the information we collect about you (e.g., only those of our personnel who need your information to carry out our business activities are allowed access to process your information).
  • Implementing physical, digital and procedural safeguards in line with relevant business standards and guidelines.

Please see Audio Imperia’s user Terms of Service and End User License Agreement (EULA) for more information.

3.3. Cookies and other technologies

Some information is received and stored automatically whenever you interact with the Site. “Cookies” are one example of this type of information. In internet terms, a “cookie” is a text file that websites commonly send to visiting computers/devices to identify that visiting computer/device upon subsequent visits and to collect general usage data including statistical information. Other uses of Cookies include, for example:

  • Allowing the Site to recognize your device so you don’t have to enter the same information repeatedly;
  • Allowing the Site to remember your cart content so you don’t have to enter the same information repeatedly;
  • Recognizing that you have a username and/or password;
  • Allowing us to better understand how you are using the Services and/or Site to maximize efficiency and ensure sufficient capacity for quick delivery;

A “cookie” is a small amount of data sent from the server and stored on your computer’s hard drive. Most web browsers are automatically set up to accept cookies, but you can set your browser to refuse cookies or ask your browser to show you where a cookie has been set up. These settings will typically be found in the ‘options’ or ‘preferences’ menu of your browser. In order to understand these settings, the following links may be helpful (otherwise you should use the ‘Help’ option in your browser for more details):

Please note that we do not recommend turning Cookies off as this may prevent you from using certain aspects of the Service and/or the Site.

Audio Imperia LLC may, from time to time, use third party services to display or distribute content on the Site, which may include analysis of data and/or management of content and/or services generally. The Site (or third-party sites) may use Cookies and/or similar web beacons to collect information that will enable us to provide you with the most efficient and personalized service. However, the cookies used on Audio Imperia’s websites does not normally contain information that identifies you personally.

3.3.1. Cookies on Audio Imperia’s websites

Audio Imperia uses session cookies as well as persistent cookies on its websites. A session cookie is a temporary cookie which is erased when a session is ended, i.e. usually when you close your browser, while a persistent cookie is stored in one of your browsers subfolders until deleted manually or the set duration period of the persistent cookie expires.

Audio Imperia uses cookies such as “ph_hasloggedin” in order to determine whether to show “sign up” or “log in” when prompting a user to log in, “ph_st_variants” in order to determine which version of a page to show to a user, and “ph_sessionid” in order to remember information about a logged in user and your cart content.

3.3.2. Third-party cookies on Audio Imperia’s websites

Audio Imperia also uses third-party cookies. Third-party cookies may be necessary in order for third parties to provide its services to Audio Imperia. Audio Imperia uses third-party cookies such as __ga in order to access Google Analytics data.

Google Universal Analytics uses so-called “cookies“, text files, which are saved to your computer and which allow for an analysis of your use of the website. The cookie-generated data regarding your use of this website will generally be forwarded to a Google server in the USA and stored there. For this website, the IP anonymization is activated, meaning your IP address will be truncated by Google within Member States of the European Union or other parties to the Agreement on the European Economic Area beforehand. Only in exceptional cases, the full IP address is sent to a Google server in the USA and is shortened there.

Google will use this data as a processor in accordance with § 11 of the German Data Protection Act (BDSG), in order to analyze your use of the website, to draft reports about website activities and to perform further services for the website’s operator in connection to website usage and internet usage. The IP address transmitted by your browser as part of Google Universal Analytics is not merged with other data held by Google. Additionally, a so-called User-ID will be used. This ID is not assigned to a particular device but to you personally. The User-ID enables the analysis of your behavior across devices (smartphone, tablet, notebook). The allocation of the User-ID to a user ensues once we have unequivocally identified you as a user. This happens generally when you are using your Audio Imperia user account. As soon as you have logged-in for the first time, a User-ID is allocated to you accordingly. It contains a unique, persistent, and non-personally identifiable string for a signed user. Once you log into our website the User-ID is sent to Google Universal Analytics. As far as Google is concerned, the User-ID functions as your alias. Google connects your online behavior and the User-ID to a profile. Google only receives the User-ID, not the information contained in the above-mentioned profile or other personal data of yours. A summarized version of the profile created in this way is accessible to us. We do not attach any other of your personal data to the profile connected to a User-ID.

You can object to the above-described data collection for each respective device by making use of the Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on with future effect. More information on terms and services and safeguarding your data can be found here:

  • Universal Analytics usage guidelines
  • Safeguarding your data

Moreover, you can object to the transfer of a User-ID to Google by writing an e-mail to us (see email at the bottom of the page). You can prevent Google’s collection of the cookie-generated data related to your use of the website (including your IP address) as well as its processing by Google by downloading and installing the browser plugin offered by Google. Moreover, the operator of this website uses Google Universal Analytics to evaluate data from AdWords and the Double-Click-Cookie for statistical purposes. You can stop this at any time by using the Google Ads Preferences Manager, by changing the setting to “OFF”.

We use Google’s Dynamic Remarketing. To run interest-based ads within the Google commercial network, Google saves a cookie to your device, which stores data regarding your browsing habits with an alias. The Google Ads Preference Manager lets you see at any time, which conclusions Google draws from the cookie. Moreover, you also have the option there to make changes or to deactivate the data collection.

You have the ability to accept or decline cookies. Most web browsers automatically accept cookies, but you can modify your settings to decline cookies as well as delete existing cookies from your device if you prefer. If you choose to decline and/or delete cookies, you may not be able to use all features of Audio Imperia’s websites or services that depend on cookies.
